What are my Divorce Name Change Options?

The good news is you only need your Birth Certificate and either your Certificate of Marriage or Decree Absolute (Certificate of Divorce) to start changing your name back.  You will not need any other legal documentation.  You can revert to your maiden name on your driving licence, passport, bank records and on all your accounts straight away.

If you simply took your husband's name when you were married by way of showing your marriage certificate, you have really just assumed his name.  Legally you can still be known by your prior name.  You should only need to show your marriage certificate and birth certificate which should show a clear link between your names.  Not all companies are aware of this so you may need to call back and speak to someone else if you initially run into obstacles.
